Beeswax Candle Tutorial

Step 1. Prepare chosen mould with either primed braided or a wick pin

Note: If using the braided wick, prime by dragging through melted wax and place straight and flat to set. To prepare mould using this wick you stick the wick to bottom center of mould and thread it up straight within it. The excess wick can be held with either a wick holder or wrapped around a pen so that it stays upright and center in the candle. Ensure the whole at the bottom of the mould is covered so that your candle doesn’t leak out.

Step 2. Melt natural beeswax over low heat

Step 3. Allow to cool to 76oC before pouring

Step 4. Pour into the prepared mould and place in sand bucket if leakage is a possibility

Step 5. Allow to set completely without using a fridge or cooling device

Step 6. Un-mould your candle. If using wick pin take this out first.

Note: Once set completely, if it is hard to un-mould then you may put in fridge to help un-mould.
